OP, people want you to enjoy the game as much as they have so feel free to elaborate. Also you can look at the guides or use the search function in the forum for specific issues too. You should follow the first few quests at least because they act as a tutorial. Same goes for most kills, patience and stealth. Shooting all your bullets off at birds without figuring out where the ammo is first? This game requires patience. However, I suspect that because he thinks the game is boring, he simply isn't used to this style of game. Or perhaps OP is not sprinting, he should double check his settings. Also the tracks can be followed for miles and miles too. I wonder if OP just feels like movement is slow due to the is a large map to travel by foot. I spent a lot of time to get the fps I wanted and with sacrificing the least that I could, but it should be possible then on the gtx 970. Most of my in-game settings are on medium and all the extra special effects are off. Not very often it dips to around 50 or peaks up around 70. I use a gtx 670 and have 60 fps on average. But why play those over the before mentioned? If you're are searching for a hunting game more in the style of Doom/Serious Sam then there are options. It takes a while and there are a few bugs that can either be annoying as hell or lead to funny moments but it makes a lot of fun if you can enjoy those type of game. works are essential to be successful in this game. Learning when to crouch/crawl, using the wind to your advantage and how the A.I. Running after them just scares them away and you can't catch up to any animal as far as I know. A lot of animals wouldn't bleed out if you can't get a vital hit and just manage a very low bleeding. Animals got thick skulls and the starting rifle is pretty weak like Nite pointed out already. While shooting at the head is a way to kill an animal, if you hit the brain and there is a achievement for that, it isn't the best way most of the time. Though it still maintains gaming elements and there are some things real life hunters mentioned which could be improved.

Like already said this game isn't a fast paced action shooter but rather tries to be as close as a hunting simulator can be.
